Barbara Hackman Elected First vice president of AIC INDIANAPOLIS – Barbara Hackman, Bartholomew County Treasurer, was elected First Vice President of the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) Board of Directors. She began her term on November 1, 2024. Board elections were held during the AIC’s Annual Conference in September. “I am excited to continue on the Executive Board as First VP to this great organization serving Indiana’s Local Government Officials,” said Barbara Hackman. Hackman started in local government as Matron in the Sheriff’s Department and worked in several different offices/agencies. She was then elected Township Assessor, County Auditor, and now serves as County Treasurer. Hackman has served on the AIC Board previously while in the Auditor’s Office. The AIC Board of Directors sets policies and legislative goals for the Association. The Association of Indiana Counties, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1957 for the betterment of county government. The various functions of the AIC include lobbying the Indiana General Assembly on behalf of counties, serving as liaison among counties, state and federal agencies as well as providing technical assistance and training to county officials and employees. ###
